Abstract:
Most of the major hospitals throughout the world are opening coronary care units and the physiotherapist is expected to play a part in this new field of cardiac rehabilitation. The School of Physiotherapy in Sydney, together with the Occupational Therapists and Social Workers, was asked by the staff cardiologists in the professorial cardiac unit to submit a suitable cardiac rehabilitation programme which would be incorporated in a pilot study in coronary care to commence in the new year.
