Summary

Primary pancreatic leiomyosarcomas are rare, aggressive tumors. Consider this diagnosis for large pancreatic masses with cystic-necrotic features, especially after ruling out other conditions.

  • Multislice computed tomography identified a substantial, heterogeneous pancreatic mass exhibiting necrotic, calcified, and macroscopic fatty components.

Findings:

  • Surgical excision and subsequent histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of pancreatic leiomyosarcoma.
  • The tumor was characterized by its large size and complex internal structure.
