Summary

A rare bladder cavernous hemangioma caused significant hematuria in a patient. Transurethral resection proved an effective treatment for this uncommon bladder tumor.

Pathology

Background:

Bladder cavernous hemangioma is a rare vascular tumor.
Hematuria is a common presenting symptom.

Observation:

A 74-year-old male presented with total macroscopic hematuria and clots.
Physical examination revealed normal mucous membranes and prostate.
Abdominal ultrasound showed bladder thickening and clots.

Findings:

Cystoscopy identified a sessile, violet-colored retrotrigonal tumor.
The tumor measured 2 cm in diameter and 0.5 cm in height.
Pathological examination confirmed cavernous hemangioma.

Implications:

Transurethral resection is an effective treatment for small bladder cavernous hemangiomas.
Early diagnosis and surgical intervention lead to satisfactory patient outcomes.
