Abstract:
The production and transfer of knowledge in the healthcare field were key factors which enabled the fight against morbidity and mortality during the First World War to be carried out efficiently. The knowledge used to train nurses before the war soon became obsolete and had to be updated. Knowledge and practices were developed in order to meet as best as possible the specific needs of patients in the particular context of this war.
