Does tramadol affect coagulation status of patients with malignancy?

Tramadol was found to slow blood clotting in women with gynecologic cancers. This study shows tramadol impacts hemostasis in a concentration-dependent manner in vitro.

- Tramadol demonstrated a concentration-dependent effect, slowing blood clotting.
Conclusions:
- Tramadol impairs hemostasis in a concentration-dependent manner in the whole blood of women with gynecologic malignancies.
- These in vitro findings suggest potential implications for managing coagulation in patients receiving tramadol.
