Summary

Preoperative intravenous glucose or glucose-lipid solutions did not alter fibrinogen, alpha-II-macroglobulin, or coeruloplasmin levels in carcinoma patients. However, lipid or glucose administration increased immunoglobulin and complement C3 serum concentrations.
