[The innervation of the dentine]
Abstract:
The innervation in both human and rat dentine was studied by modified silver stain and anterograde radioautographic neuroanatomical tracing (ARNT). The results showed that very fine nerve fibrils were demonstrated in human and rat dentine. They could be traced in continuity with those in predentine and dental pulp and extended to the dentine enamel junction. These facts show that the innervation in dentine does exist, and the nerve fibrils in dentine originate from dental pulp.
