Summary

Bone tissue engineering utilizes adult mesenchymal stem cells. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) and adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) show potential, but ASCs may have inferior osteogenesis in vitro, though in vivo results vary.
