Human liver stem/progenitor cells decrease serum bilirubin in hyperbilirubinemic Gunn rat

Adult-derived human liver stem/progenitor cells (ADHLSC) effectively conjugate bilirubin in vitro. When transplanted into Gunn rats, ADHLSC restore deficient metabolic function, reducing bilirubin levels for up to six months.
