Effective MIM requires a holistic, cooperative approach considering multiprofessional perspectives.

To present an approach for gaining shared understanding of medication information management.
To capture multiprofessional viewpoints on improving medication information management.

Main Methods:

Thematic interviews.
Activity-driven models.
Workshops with mixed professional groups.
Regional development project in Northern Savonia, Finland.

The developed approach facilitated a shared understanding of MIM.
Participants strongly endorsed the usefulness of the presented approach.
