Background:

  • Ocular adnexal lymphomas represent a small fraction of non-Hodgkin's lymphomas.
  • The conjunctiva is a frequent site for these extranodal lymphomas.

Observation:

  • A 47-year-old woman presented with eye irritation and a painless pink conjunctival mass.
  • Physical exam revealed a characteristic 'pink salmon-patch' lesion.
  • Orbital CT confirmed a preseptal soft tissue density.

Findings:

  • Biopsy showed a B-cell infiltrate consistent with marginal zone lymphoma.
  • The patient was diagnosed with stage 1E extranodal marginal zone lymphoma.
  • The lymphoma did not coexpress CD5 or CD43 markers.

Implications:

  • External beam radiotherapy led to complete lymphoma resolution.
  • This case demonstrates successful treatment of early-stage conjunctival lymphoma.
  • Long-term follow-up is crucial to monitor for recurrence.
