    Area of Science:

    • Periodontology
    • Dental Hygiene

    Context:

    • Interdental brushes are frequently recommended for interdental cleaning.
    • Recommended for patients with periodontal tissue destruction and open interproximal spaces.

    Purpose:

    • Determine the frequency of interdental brush reach in interdental spaces.
    • Compare reach in individuals with and without papilla destruction.

    Summary:

    • High brush penetration rates observed in interproximal spaces.
    • Patients without gingival recession and loss of attachment showed outstanding brush penetration.

    Impact:

    • Findings highlight the efficacy of interdental brushes in specific patient groups.
    • Informs recommendations for optimal interdental cleaning tools based on periodontal status.
