  • To analyze health problems in undocumented migrants accessing NGO care.

  • Retrospective analysis of patient files from August 2011 to January 2013.
  • Systematic analysis of patient contacts, including age, sex, origin, referrals, symptoms, and diagnoses.
  • Classification of patient complaints using the International Classification of Primary Care, 2nd Edition (ICPC-2).

Main Results:

  • 830 patients of 94 nationalities visited the clinic (2,088 total visits).
  • Common health reasons mirrored general practice, with severe and chronic cases noted.
  • 11.6% of patients were pregnant women, presenting later in gestation (16+ weeks) compared to general practice (5.1%).

Conclusions:

  • Undocumented migrants exhibit a wide range of health concerns.
  • Critical illnesses were observed in this patient group.
  • A significant number of pregnant women delayed seeking care and did not attend postnatal check-ups.
