Abstract:
A survey was conducted in Catania (Italy) to evaluate doctors' attitudes and beliefs about the usefulness and quality of Continuing Medical Education (C.M.E.) programs, and their level of satisfaction with the courses followed. Overall, 205 medical doctor with a mean age of 52 years and from various specialties, completed the questionnaire. Almost 65% of responders have an overall favorable view of CME course provided but only 26% reported believing that CME courses "always" improve the quality of healthcare provided. Results suggest that CME strategies should be reviewed, following a detailed analysis of the training needs of healthcare professionals.
