[120 years of the Medical Society of Santiago]

The Santiago Medical Society becomes 120 years old on September 2, 1989. It was founded only 36 years after the beginning of Medical Schools in Chile. Originally it was involved with General Medicine. Lately it has turned into an Internal Medicine Society with strong connections to the different subspecialty societies and with affiliates in other cities. The Society is a growing institution and its concern for the general problems of Medicine in our country remains vigorous as ever.
