    Context:

    • Kawasaki disease (KD) is a leading cause of acquired heart disease in children.
    • Cardiovascular complications (CVC) are a significant concern in KD patients.

    Purpose:

    • To describe the cardiovascular complications (CVC) in a cohort of 15 children diagnosed with Kawasaki disease (KD).
    • To analyze echocardiographic findings and their correlation with clinical presentation and treatment.

    Summary:

    • 15 children with KD underwent serial echocardiography. Abnormalities, including coronary artery lesions (CAL) and cardiac enlargement, were detected in 12 patients.
    • CAL were observed in 9 patients, with some developing aneurysms. Cardiac enlargement affected 3 patients.
    • While no clinical myocardial ischemia was evident, echocardiography identified significant CVC, even in some treated with intravenous gammaglobulin.
