Summary

Prostate brachytherapy using caesium-131 demonstrates excellent 5-year oncological outcomes. This treatment achieved high rates of biochemical freedom from disease (BFD) across all risk groups and treatment types.

Main Results:

96.0% 5-year BFD in low-risk patients.
92.7% 5-year BFD in intermediate-risk patients.
82.9% 5-year BFD in high-risk patients.
BFD rates for monotherapy (95.7%), combination therapy (84.9%), and trimodal therapy (92.0%) were reported.

Conclusions:

Prostate brachytherapy with caesium-131 yields excellent 5-year oncological outcomes.
High BFD rates observed across various risk stratifications.
Caesium-131 brachytherapy is an effective treatment for prostate cancer.
