  • Attending surgeons, blinded to group assignment, evaluated operative performance using validated global rating scales.

    • Warm-up group showed significant improvements in depth perception (p=0.02), bimanual dexterity (p=0.01), and movement efficiency (p=0.03).
    • Composite scores on both Reznick (p=0.008) and Vassiliou (p=0.01) scales were statistically higher for the warm-up group.
    • Pilot data from 40 cases (19 warm-up, 21 control) informed these findings.

    Conclusions:

    • Pre-operative warm-up demonstrably enhances key surgical skills and overall operative performance.

    • Despite lack of self-perceived improvement, objective measures indicate enhanced surgical proficiency.
