    Area of Science:

    • Plastic Surgery
    • Aesthetic Medicine
    • Facial Rejuvenation

    Background:

    • Cervical ptosis is a common concern in aesthetic medicine.
    • Existing surgical techniques may involve longer procedures or general anesthesia.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy and patient satisfaction of the Lifting of the Oval of Visage (LOV) surgical technique for cervical ptosis.
    • To assess long-term (one-year) post-operative outcomes.

    Main Methods:

    • A retrospective study was conducted on patients who underwent the LOV procedure between January 2011 and December 2011.
    • Patient satisfaction was measured using anonymous questionnaires one year post-surgery.

    Main Results:

    • Out of 45 patients, 43 (93% female, average age 56) completed the questionnaire.
    • 86% of patients would recommend the LOV procedure to a friend.
    • High satisfaction rates were reported: 74.4% 'very good' and 18.6% 'good'.
    • A single complication (2.3%) of unilateral hypoesthesia of the earlobe was noted.

    Conclusions:

    • The Lifting of the Oval of Visage (LOV) is a simple, effective, and safe surgical alternative for treating cervical ptosis.
    • The procedure offers natural-looking rejuvenation with high patient satisfaction under local anesthesia.
    • The high recommendation rate, often through word-of-mouth, underscores patient satisfaction with LOV.
