[Fatalities and danger to health caused by smog]

Basing on official statistics, the course of death rates during the Smog period in January 1985 in the German Ruhr district was studied. The death rate did not increase; on the contrary it had decreased. There is no reason to assume that any health hazards are created by Smog.
