    Summary

    Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty successfully treated a significant lesion in a congenitally anomalous right coronary artery. The anomalous vessel responded similarly to a normal artery during the procedure.

    • Significant lesions in anomalous coronary arteries require careful consideration for revascularization strategies.

    Observation:

    • A case involving a patient with a congenitally anomalous right coronary artery (RCA) presenting with a significant obstructive lesion.
    • The anomalous RCA followed an unusual anatomical course.

    Findings:

    • Successful dilation of the significant coronary artery lesion was achieved using percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA).
    • The anomalous right coronary artery demonstrated a similar hemodynamic and procedural response to angioplasty as a typical, anatomically normal coronary artery.

    Implications:

    • Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty is a viable and effective treatment option for significant lesions in anomalous right coronary arteries.
    • Anatomical variations in coronary arteries do not necessarily preclude successful interventional treatment outcomes.
