The ankle is formed by the talocrural joint (crural = leg). It consists of the articulations between the talus bone of the foot and the distal ends of the tibia and fibula of the leg. Total talus dislocation is a rare and severe injury.
Often associated with fractures and significant complications like avascular necrosis and infection.
Post-traumatic arthritis is a common long-term sequela.

Purpose of the Study:

To report a case of open total talus dislocation with ipsilateral medial malleolus fracture.
To highlight the outcomes of early surgical intervention.
To assess the prevention of avascular necrosis in this specific injury pattern.

Surgical debridement and reduction of the dislocated talus.
Combined internal and external fixation for fracture stabilization.
Early mobilization and clinical follow-up.
