Panniculitis of pancreatitis presenting as an abdominal wall mass

A case is presented of subcutaneous fat necrosis manifested as an abdominal wall mass, a finding reported only rarely with acute pancreatitis. It should be considered a possibility in the differential diagnosis of a palpable abdominal mass in acute pancreatitis.
