Intravascular foscarnet crystal precipitation causing multiorgan failure

Foscarnet antiviral treatment caused multiorgan failure in a kidney transplant patient due to crystal precipitation. Promptly stopping foscarnet improved the patient, but the kidney transplant was permanently lost.
