[The development and most recent status of thoracic diagnosis with reference to the low-dose image intensifier]

The development of indirect thoracic X-ray techniques is discussed, beginning with chest screening using a fluorographic device with a small-size camera, followed by Odelca-fluorographic mass chest examination systems and the current modern low-dose large-field image intensifier techniques including their enormous advantages compared with former techniques.
