Challenges in developing a validated biomarker for angiogenesis inhibitors: the motesanib experience

- Biomarker findings from phase 2 studies may not translate to phase 3 clinical trials.
- PlGF is not a reliable predictive biomarker for motesanib in advanced NSCLC.
