[Laboratory studies for assessing physical properties of silver amalgamate]

A laboratory study is presented, that was carried out with a view to expand knowledge on mechanical characteristics of the romanian silver amalgamate. Values for specific deformation were established, and for resistance to rupture under compression stress, the elasticity module was calculated, and the characteristic curve was determined, under compression. The results provided conclusions on the behaviour of obturations employing silver amalgamate under the effects of mastication forces.
