Apoptotic cells ameliorate chronic intestinal inflammation by enhancing regulatory B-cell function

Handling apoptotic cells (ACs) reduces chronic colitis severity, but only with B cells present. ACs induce regulatory B cells (Bregs) to produce interleukin-10, suggesting a novel therapeutic approach for inflammatory bowel disease.
