Association between single-nucleotide polymorphisms and early spontaneous hepatitis B virus e antigen seroconversion

Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) may influence hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection outcomes in children. The HLA-DPA1 SNP showed a trend towards early hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg) seroconversion, suggesting a potential role in disease progression.

- No other tested SNPs demonstrated a significant association with early HBeAg seroconversion.
Conclusions:
- The HLA-DPA1 SNP did not reach statistical significance for association with early HBeAg seroconversion.
- However, the HLA-DPA1 SNP may potentially increase the likelihood of early spontaneous HBeAg seroconversion in children with chronic HBV infection.
