Risk Factors for Acute Symptomatic Seizure in Bacterial Meningitis in Children

In children with bacterial meningitis, seizures are predicted by younger age, pneumococcal cause, altered mental status, and low cerebrospinal fluid white blood cell counts. In-hospital seizures significantly increase mortality risk.
