Background:

Rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) is a serious ocular condition.
High myopia is a known risk factor for retinal detachment.
Traumatic events can precipitate RRD in predisposed individuals.

Purpose of the Study:

To report two cases of immediate rhegmatogenous retinal detachment after roller coaster riding.
To identify roller coaster riding as a potential risk factor for RRD in at-risk populations.

Main Methods:

Two cases of myopic women presenting with visual symptoms post-roller coaster ride.
Clinical examination and diagnostic imaging to confirm RRD.
Pathological analysis to determine etiology.

Main Results:

Both patients were diagnosed with acute rhegmatogenous retinal detachments.
Retinal detachments were associated with significant myopic degenerative changes.
Pathology indicated an acute, traumatic cause for the RRD.
