Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the association between rushed condom application and specific condom use errors or problems.
  • To quantify the increased risk of condom failure when application is hurried.

  • A convenience sample of 512 individuals from three US states participated in daily electronic assessments.
  • Data collected included instances of rushed condom application and assessed condom breakage, slippage, leakage, and incomplete use over 8856 sexual events.
