Does maternal underweight prior to conception influence pregnancy risks and outcome?

Pregnancy risks for Caucasian women with pre-conception underweight include higher rates of preterm birth and neonatal underweight. However, maternal outcomes and birth trauma were not negatively impacted by maternal underweight.
