Epiretinal membrane inflammatory cell density might reflect the activity of proliferative diabetic retinopathy

Inflammatory cells, particularly lymphocytes, in fibrovascular membranes are linked to active proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). However, their presence does not predict visual acuity improvement after surgery for PDR.
