To explore practice nurses' perceptions of an established telehealth service.
To identify facilitators and barriers to telehealth implementation from a nursing perspective.

Main Methods:

A descriptive qualitative study was conducted.
Semi-structured email interviews were used to gather data from nurses.
The study focused on nurses' experiences and future views of the telehealth service.

Main Results:

Seven nurses with an average of 15 months of telehealth experience were interviewed.
Nurses generally had a positive experience with telehealth.
Key barriers included lack of resources, organizational support, patient selection, and technical issues.

Conclusions:

Practice nurses identified significant challenges impacting telehealth effectiveness.
Addressing identified barriers is essential for the sustained success and continuity of telehealth services.
Recommendations include increased staffing, enhanced training, and refined patient selection criteria.
