Calf muscle involvement in Becker muscular dystrophy: when size does not matter

In Becker muscular dystrophy (BMD), calf enlargement is primarily due to true muscle hypertrophy, not fatty degeneration. A new calf MRI score (CMS) may indicate disease severity.
