Sex differences in seizure types and symptoms

Males with generalized epilepsy (GE) reported more atonic seizures. Females with nonacquired focal epilepsy (NAFE) experienced more autonomic, visual, and psychic symptoms, including déjà vu. These sex differences in epilepsy symptoms warrant further investigation.
