Purpose of the Study:

  • To determine the influence of SIP and inhibition on delayed verbal recall in females with AN.
  • To understand the contribution of these executive functions to memory performance in AN.

  • 35 females with AN were assessed for SIP and inhibition.
  • Hierarchical multiple regression was used, controlling for age, depressive symptoms, and BMI.
  • Predictors were evaluated using structure coefficients, common variance, and dominance weights.

  • SIP and inhibition combined explained nearly 80% of the variance in delayed verbal recall.
  • After controlling for other variables, SIP and inhibition still accounted for over 50% of the variance.
