Ovalbumin sensitization of guinea pig at birth prevents the ontogenetic decrease in airway smooth muscle

Neonatal allergic sensitization in guinea pigs prevents the natural decrease in airway smooth muscle (ASM) responsiveness seen in adulthood. This early-life exposure maintains ASM hyperresponsiveness into adulthood, even without later allergen challenges.
