  • A review of 226 drug trial manuscripts submitted to eight journals between January 2010 and April 2012.

Conclusions:

  • Discrepancies between registered and reported trial information do not appear to be a primary reason for manuscript rejection.
  • Journal editors should actively check for consistency between trial registries and published articles to mitigate selective reporting.
  • Ensuring data transparency and accurate reporting is essential for reliable scientific literature.
