    Summary

    Ectopic antral mucosa can concentrate technetium, though less effectively than stomach fundic mucosa. This finding suggests technetium scanning may aid in detecting misplaced or retained antral tissue.

    • To investigate the capacity of denervated ectopic antral mucosa, when implanted into the colon, to concentrate technetium.
    • To compare the technetium uptake of ectopic antral mucosa with that of native stomach fundic mucosa.

    • Surgical implantation of denervated antral segments into the colons of 5 dogs.
    • Administration of technetium and subsequent scanning to assess tissue uptake.
