Summary

Rheumatoid arthritis patients show increased leukotriene B4 (LTB4) synthesis in synovial fluid polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs). Synovial lining cells primarily produce prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), not LTB4, in inflamed joints.
