Nitrous Oxide for Treatment-Resistant Major Depression: A Proof-of-Concept Trial.

Nitrous oxide, an N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor antagonist, shows rapid antidepressant effects in treatment-resistant depression (TRD). This study found significant symptom improvement and remission rates in TRD patients after nitrous oxide inhalation.
