Summary

Remote cognitive assessments using Automated Neuropsychological Assessment Metrics (ANAM-MS) are feasible for multiple sclerosis (MS) patients. While ANAM-MS scores were consistent, the Symbol Digit Modalities Test (SDMT) showed differences, suggesting a need for telehealth-specific norms.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the feasibility of remote cognitive assessment for MS patients.
  • To compare in-office versus remote administration of the Automated Neuropsychological Assessment Metrics (ANAM-MS) and the Symbol Digit Modalities Test (SDMT).

  • Patients with MS (n=24) were randomized to in-office or remote testing conditions first, completing both.
