Background:

Innovative delivery methods are essential to overcome barriers in accessing evidence-based parent training (PT) programs.
Traditional in-person PT programs face challenges related to time and logistics, limiting participation.

Purpose of the Study:

To detail the systematic adaptation of the Chicago Parent Program (CPP) into a tablet-based format (eCPP).
To present the features of the adapted eCPP.
To explore the opportunities and challenges inherent in adapting evidence-based programs for novel delivery methods.

Main Methods:

A systematic, multi-stage adaptation process was employed for the Chicago Parent Program (CPP).
Engaged stakeholders included parents (n=10), CPP developers (n=3), and digital delivery experts.
Group meetings facilitated core component identification, model development, mismatch assessment, and material adaptation.

Main Results:

The adapted program, eCPP, is a six-module internet-based intervention.
eCPP features interactive activities, video examples, reflection prompts, knowledge assessments with feedback, and practice assignments.
The intervention is designed for tablet-based delivery.

Conclusions:

Innovative delivery approaches for evidence-based interventions show promise for sustainability, access, and engagement.
Systematic adaptation processes, incorporating expert consultation and community input, are vital for effective implementation.
Digital adaptations can significantly broaden the reach of valuable parenting programs.
