Summary

This study shows that a buried suture technique effectively corrects mild to moderate blepharoptosis and creates a double eyelid fold simultaneously. This minimally invasive approach offers good cosmetic results with no complications in young patients.

  • Preoperative and postoperative marginal reflex distance (MRD1) and photographic assessments were used.
  • Main Results:

    • The average preoperative MRD1 was 1.174 mm, improving to 3.968 mm postoperatively (P<0.05).
    • No intraoperative complications were reported.
    • No symptomatic dry eye or exposure keratopathy occurred postoperatively.

    Conclusions:

    • The buried suture technique is effective for correcting mild to moderate blepharoptosis in young patients.
    • This technique successfully combines blepharoptosis correction with double eyelid fold creation.
    • The procedure demonstrates good safety and cosmetic outcomes.
