Prognostic factors in crescentic glomerulonephritis: a single-center experience

Crescentic glomerulonephritis (CGN) is a severe kidney disease. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial, as high creatinine, low urine output, and more crescentic glomeruli indicate a poor prognosis and need for dialysis.

- Key indicators for poor prognosis at admission included serum creatinine > 4.2 mg/dL and > 63% crescentic glomeruli.

- Renal prognosis in CGN patients is generally poor.
- Factors such as delayed hospital admission, severity of renal insufficiency, presence of oliguria-anuria, need for dialysis, and high percentage of crescentic glomeruli are strongly associated with progression to end-stage renal disease.
