Rhythm disturbances are common in Fontan patients. Intra-atrial lateral tunnel (ILT) surgery is associated with more atrial arrhythmias and slower heart rate recovery compared to extracardiac conduit (ECC) surgery.

- The clinical significance of asymptomatic ventricular arrhythmias in young Fontan survivors requires further investigation.
