Summary

Vascular reactivity, or how blood vessels respond to stimuli, increases with age, not necessarily with high blood pressure (hypertension). This study found age, not hypertension, is linked to greater pressor responsiveness to phenylephrine.

  • Administered phenylephrine, a selective alpha 1-adrenoceptor agonist, to assess pressor responsiveness.
