Drivers' decision-making when attempting to cross an intersection results from choice between affordances

Drivers’ decisions at intersections depend on both crossing and stopping times. This study found that stopping capabilities significantly influence crossing frequency, even when crossing times are equal, supporting a choice between affordances model.
